A few weeks ago I played RA and I noticed a Mesmer/no sec profession in my team wielding a hammer attacking with it in melee.

Compared to the other weapons in a mesmer's arsenal conjure phantasm is a pretty pisspoor choice. So your sarcasm is a fail

It doesn't work so well against casters, but an illusion build puts a hell of a lot of pressure on physical classes while maintaining degen.

Its not as universally powerful as the standard VoR build, but it can be plenty useful, stop taking glad farming in RA so damn serious.

This guy is pretty well known as an RA farmer. He's g8, and he only plays on his one character on this one build. Anyone who knows the guy knows the stupid and funny part is that you can't really be sure if he's joking or not.

The bar's pretty ungodly terrible too, it's the kind of bar that only works if people train you for a weapon's entire duration and never drop Preservation, otherwise you just burn out of energy and sac yourself to death.

I'm 90% sure I played with this pompous bugger today. He seemed to be extra offended by my use of tainted flesh. Which made it considerably more fun (even if we did win)

People that swear at you because you're running skill x on bar y are hilarious. So I pay 150 euro's for all GW episodes so I can listen to rude kiddies? meh, RA is ofc. serious business.

Most fun is getting inot in a team of 4 people with a good attitude and over-the-top exotic builds, and see how far you get, you would be surprised really ^^.

No I don't mean a well rounded Lyssa's Aura Degen spamming build, I meant the terrible ones that just spam conjure phantasm on everything and leave it at that.

Stupidest thing I've seen in RA? When I was trying to learn PvP, and instead of helpful advice or understanding attitudes, I got cursed out, laughed at and called names by the elitist jerks whom seem to have forgotten that GW is just a damn game.

Nevertheless, I encountered some great people that took the time to explain why what I was doing was incorrect, as opposed to "LOL NOOOOOB".

That happens alot when people are frustrated, they release it on people they don't know.

Try pming people and asking what you did wrong (if they seem decent - don't ask tanking earth ele's or sins with 200hp). Alot of the time people will spare a little bit of time to explain, or if not they'll say "sorry busy atm" or "sry wasn't paying too much attention". Rarely will you get a flame back (if you yourself are polite).

My flare machinegun was bretty stupid :P

Glyph of Elemental Power + Double Dragon for +4 fire magic, 12+1+2 fire magic = 19 fire magic (goes to 20 when you reuse double dragon while the old effect is on)
Then just spam flare for 77-80dmg on 60AL targets ^^
